Factor Verve Titanium Folder Titanium Folding Knife

5.00 out of 5 based on 2 customer ratings
(2 customer reviews)

The Verve knife from Factor combines everlasting quality with sophistication. Starting with the heart of the knife, the blade is created through Factor’s unique finishing process that includes a ceramic bead-blast and stonewash. This results in a stronger and more protected exterior to the S35VN drop point. This will help to hide scratches, reduce maintenance and support your blade’s original appearance over time. The knife’s ceramic ball bearings are responsible for efficient blade deployment and its titanium frame lock ensures solid blade security. The contoured titanium handles are anodized and uniquely shaped for artistic style and comfort in hand. All Factor knives are hand-crafted in short-run’s within our custom manufacturing facility.  This particular knife also has a first run production marking on the blade of the first 100 knives.

BLADE MATERIAL

CPM S35VN (Crucibal Industries)
CPM S35VN is one of the most coveted knife steels in today’s premier and custom knives. Designed and developed in cooperation by one of the best custom knife makers in the US and released to the tool and knife community in his honored knives; this steel offers great edge retention, toughness, stain resistance and still easy to sharpen.

A martensitic stainless steel designed to offer improved toughness over Crucibal’s S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. Its chemistry has been rebalanced so that it forms some niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. Because both vanadium and niobium car bides are harder and more effective than chromium carbides in providing wear resistance, the CPM stainless blade steels offer improved edge retention over conventional high chromium steels such as 440C and D2.

The CPM process produces very homogeneous, high quality steel characterized by superior dimensional stability, grind ability, and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional melting practices.

HANDLE MATERIAL

Titanium
We use titanium in many of our handles, clips, and liner and frame locking materials. We value it for 3 main advantages: Strength, appearance, and light weight. When combining the full formula of those three advantages it results in what we believe is the best way to encapsulate and support our most premium folders.

Instructions

Opening via the flipper

While knife is closed, hold knife firmly allowing for knife opening to be clear to open blade. Then apply pressure with your index finger on the flipper. The more pressure, the faster the blade will fully open to locked position. Make sure your fingers are clear of the opening. Injury can occur if it is not.

Unlocking the Blade

The blade will automatically secure when fully opened by the frame lock. To unlock the frame lock, simply push the left frame in the left direction with your thumb until blade is clear. Then push blade down to close. Be sure all fingers are clear before fully closing blade.

What is not Covered

This warranty runs as long as you own your product unless your Factor Equipment product is modified in any way.

This warranty does not cover breakage or failure due to misuse. Our products are designed to be of high quality and it should be extremely rare that your product break due to effect. Usually they break or fail from what we consider abusive behavior (not covered by warranty):

The warranty can become void if:

  • Our knives are used for any purpose other than cutting (improper use).
  • The knife is modified in any way.
  • There is damage caused by abuse, misuse, loss, improper handling, alterations, accident, neglect, disassembly, or improper sharpening.
  • Repairs to your knife are performed by any other source
  • unsuitable tasks like prying, pounding, chiseling, and hammering
  • most blade tip breakage is not covered by our warranty.

Also, consequential and incidental damages are not recoverable under this warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.

Misuse of your knife can cause serious injury or even death. It can also cause your knife to break or fail and the Factor Equipment limited lifetime warranty will not apply. Failure to properly maintain your knife also may cause its mechanisms to not function properly, which could result in injury to you or damage to the knife.

Like most tools, our knives should be cared for properly. As your knife has been used for an extended period of time, it is possible that the knife may need sharpening or maintenance to retain its usefulness. Any and all maintenance is the responsibility of the knife owner and is not covered by this warranty.

I bought the Verve and both Iconic sizes. Honestly, I didn’t expect to like the Verve as much as I do. It is awesome in design, feel and build quality and I quite like the bronze color. Fantastic job, Factor.

  2. Luke Duval (verified owner)

This knife is awesome. I’m currently carrying it over my Microtech ultratech.
